Please Note: Your therapist at DHFT is a certified Prepare Enrich premarital/marital enrichment facilitator in the state of Texas. Your therapist at DHFT offers premarital counseling for both first-married couples and re-partnering couples. The Prepare Enrich curriculum and structure will reflect similarly regardless of relationship status and history; The treatment goals may vary depending on the couple and their specific needs.

Divorce has become normalized in the United States, as nearly half of marriages end voluntarily in dissolution. More than 75% of divorcees will marry again. Thirty percent of divorced individuals will remarry within one year following dissolution. The likelihood of divorce in subsequent marriages are even higher than first marriages. Couples in second or sequential marriage also divorce at an accelerated pace than couples in their first marriage.

Re-partnered couples face arduous and varied challenges than traditional first-married families. It is imperative for re-partnering couples to seek the appropriate support that is tailored to their unique and specific needs to build a solid and healthy foundation and successful (step) family formation.

Couples will complete the Prepare Enrich couple assessment prior to the initial session - The premarital sessions will revolve around the strengths and growth areas of your relationship identified by the assessment. The Prepare Enrich program focuses on the core relationship categories of:
